Description of TFTP Server
SolarWinds free TFTP Server is a multi-threaded TFTP server commonly used to upload and download executable images and configurations to routers and switches. The free TFTP Server runs on most Microsoft® operating system, including Windows® XP, Vista, 2000, and 2003.
While there are other free TFTP servers available, SolarWinds TFTP Server is the most robust, widely-trusted and, easy-to-use solution that helps network engineers with projects ranging from single file transfers to large network auditing projects.
Some of the more notable features of the SolarWinds free TFTP Server include:
Advanced Security allows you to specify an IP address or range of IP addresses that are authorized to use the TFTP Server. Additional parameters can limit usage to only send or only receive files via the TFTP Server.
Multi-threaded enables you to concurrently upload and download images from multiple network devices. This powerful feature saves valuable time when managing a complex network with many devices.
Runs as a Service optionally runs as a service to deliver 24 x 7 TFTP server availability for your entire network.
Transfers Files Larger than 32MB supports the option negotiation protocol (transfer size, block size, timeout) described in the current TFTP protocol specifications. This enables transfer of files up to 4GB, which allows you to transfer the latest IOS or firmware versions without issue.
