Description of RegCleaner
RegCleaner is an easy to use program. With RegCleaner you can easily get rid of those old and obsolete registry entries created by software that you uninstalled ages ago. RegCleaner shows you the list of software that is registered in the registry and by checking checkboxes you select which software you don´t have anymore and RegCleaner removes all registry entries created by those programs automatically. You can also remove start up programs that are started behind your back which can dramatically decrease your computer performance.

| is 4.3.0.777 instead of 4.2.etc...; btw, it still continues to have lots of bugs, at least under Win95. But now, even worse, at the end of the Registry Cleanup, the View with Notepad feature doesn't work at all. |

| well, I haven't got much to say... only that I like this prog and can recommend it to anyone. But I dislike the frequency this prog is updated. I wish the prog had an auto-update-retreival function. greetz. |

| Just a note that you should beware of the new Hardware Cleanup / Reset option... I was exploring the options and went into the Hardware one, and I expected it to just fix or clean up problems, but instead it removed all references to every device on my system (right down to the CMOS clock and motherboard...) and Windows on the next boot didn't have any hardware... I restored a backup of the registry from the morning using scanreg so I didn't loose anything, but it doesn't give a warning or a Yes / No dialog, so I just thought I'd warn you all :) |

| You can regularly monitor your registry with this and have a lot of control over what software have been doing with it. |

| Ok... here is exactly what I was talking about here.. over at www.tweakfiles.com they have also got the progyu listed there.. go to the info about it... you will see a nice wright up, as well as the features.... now go to the bottom of the page... this is a direct quote from their page...
"Note:
Due the shortness of the test period you should consider this release as Beta.
You have to do an "clean install". Ie. delete the old version of RegCleaner you have (you can leave options.dat if you want) and then install this new one. "

| Actualy, I did not realiaze he was an indipendant s/w wrighter. However.. As good as the s/w is, I am a professional BETA tester "Get Paid To Test" I am quite reluctant to download & install a new version. As I am sure you are well aware, newer does not always mean better..:) There have been several occasions where I have applied an update to an existing s/w & all sorts of problems have happened... ie: Norton, MS, Corel, IBM etc.
As I mentioned earlier, I do very much like his program, it is very effictive & works quite well, but it would be nice to know if the new version actualy does warrent the download & install of a newer version.
Possably, the NFO of a version history to help make things more clear on weather an individual actualy needs the update..

| The frequent updates have not been a problem for me. When I find a new update, I simply download and install on top of the old program. No deletion of the old program is necessary.
I assume the updates are Jouni's attempts to make the program a little better. If you check the version number, it has not changed from 3.5 for several weeks even though the build number has increased from 440 or so to 459.
Perhaps Jouni should not submit his very minor changes, only making changes when something major is done to make the program better or less buggy (not that the program is full of bugs, it isn't).
In any case, the software is great. Because Jouni makes frequent changes should not deter anyone from using Jouni's excellent software.
By the way - Jouni is an individual programer. He does not work for some large company. My guess - when he thinks he has improved his software, he submits it. |

| Personaly, I LOVE this progy, but yes... you guys are right.. They do release LOTS of updates.. Just a small suggestion for the File Flash Support Team... What are the chances of you guys also posting what is new in weach release.. Sometimes the new released do not always warrant a download....
