Description of SITEnhance Keywords
SITEnhance is an application for Microsoft Internet Information Server, which helps you optimize your site based on search engine keywords. The basic idea is to allow you to access the keywords used to reach your site, and use them to customize the user experience.Imagine that a user goes to Google, or any other search engine, and searches for the words 'magnesium pecil vendor'. If you were such a vendor, chances are that your web site would show up on the list of results. Typically the link to your site presented to the user will direct him to your main page, or some sub page on which the search engine found the words in question - but how certain are you, that the page reached is actually the best first impression of your service? It may be that the search engine link points to some detailed technical information about magnesium pencils, but what the user really was looking for was the order button.The fact that search engines traverse the sub pages of your site causes this kind of problems to be very common. SITEnhance can help you eliminate this worry. SITEnhance will let you set up static redirections based on the search words used. For example, you could create a rule which would ensure that if the user searched for the words magnesium and pencil he would be taken directly to the /pencil_overview.html page regardless of the actual url requested. SITEnhance will make the search words used available to any dynamic pages on your web site. ASP or other scripting code can customize the web page based on the specific search words and search engine used to reach your site. SITEnhance will provide you with statistics on the search engines and search words used to locate your site.
