Description of Universal Watchdog
Universal Watchdog is a tool to check all devices in your ip-network. Any device which got it's own ip-adress can be checked.Universal Watchdog uses ICMP-packages to "ping" the devices in your network and checks which devices are responding and which do not. All devices that have their own ip-adress can be checked. For example: routers, switches, bridges, computers or accesspoints and so on.Any device on which you can use "Ping" with its ip-adress is checkable by Universal Watchdog. If a device does not respond you have multiple ways to set off alerts (e-mail, sounds, optical alerts).Furthermore you can check the existance or nonexistance of files on computers in your network. With this feature you can check processes on your servers (i.e.: backupprocedures). Details about this can be read in the documentation of this tool.Download the demoversion to test this software.
