The 30.xx series (I started with 30.30) seems pretty nice, but you seem to be trading out OpenGL render speed to get improved DirectX speed and rendering quality. I'd highly recommend them!
There are a great many more posts discussing them over at guru3d.com, check it out.

For some reason 23.10 and 23.11 makes XP report that "the device driver was caught in an invinite loop" and I get a reboot. I stick with 22.80 for now.

I downloaded 6.49 a while ago, and they fixed a LOT of blue screens involved with my twinview... I can actually use the twinview (6.31 was provided with my card and didn't work at all) Not sure about win9x/ME but they sure make a diff in win2k..
